Automate Sales Order Creation from POs Received via Email Attachments in Business Central

I am working on a proof of concept for a client who receives Purchase Orders (POs) via email as attachments from their customers. The requirement is to automatically create Sales Orders in Business Central as soon as an email with a PO attachment is received.

Are there any native features in Business Central that can help automate this process? Specifically, is there any built-in OCR or data extraction functionality that can handle PDF attachments and map the extracted data to Sales Orders without the use of any third-party services?

I have the same question (0)

Incoming documents functionality has built-in process for connecting to external OCR service, sending the document  (PDF, or image) and receiving XML file, that can be transformed to Purchase orders.

For Sales orders, there is no built in process, and usually these kind of things are done through an OCR service provider and some API's that You have to develop. I don't know any that are offering an extension to BC from their OCR service, but it doesn't mean there aren't any out there :)

Or as Khushbu Rajvi suggested, something for this can be done via power automate, but You need premium license (for power automate not BC) for this.

Hi, If the order information is written in the email content, Power Automate can do it. But I personally think this is a bit complicated.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Automatically create a new customer when receiving an email via Power Automate (No customization)

In addition, Power Automate also has an OCR service, you can also consider trying it.

    Thanks.
