Hi,
is there a way to split a purchase order cost against multiple job tasks as a total rather than individual item lines?
E.g Purchase order 1000 totals £2000 divide the cost to the job tasks

If I follow you correctly you have a Purchase Order than you want 1 Purchase Line but split between 2 Job Tasks vs. creating the 2 Purchase Lines per Job Task. I don't know of a way out-of-the-box in BC. I am sure you could talk to your Partner to create an extension to accommodate this, but not sure its worth the time and money since If its was me I would like see the 2 PO Lines.
