Hi All,

I have couple of questions related to Dynamics 365 reporting. Can someone suggest me ideas or ways to implement the same.

1. I have a basic account summary report. Now I want this to be scheduled and executed daily once and send a excel report to my manager. How should I go with this ?

2. Can we build SSRS reports in CRM Online or is it limited only to On-Premise ?

    No, you can' do that with CRM Online because it doesn't expose reporting services endpoints.

    Also SDK doesn't provide methods to generate reports.

    Can we do this externally ? Meaning

    1. create a executable which will invoke the report through SDK and save it to local path.

    2. Same executable will have code to attach the report and send email.

    3. Schedule the exe with windows scheduler.

    Yes. Reports created for Dynamics CRM Online can't be scheduled using OOB functionality.

    Hello,

    You definitely can build reports in CRM Online but scheduling of the that report is complicated (or even impossible) and I haven't seen any article that will describe it.

    Hi,

    Not sure regarding scheduling reports OOB in CRM Online. That is a feature of SSRS, that you can implement On-Premise, but you might be able to do this using Workflows. There are also a couple of third party tools that enable that functionality.

    Regarding building SSRS reports for CRM Online, you can use BIDS/Visual Studio to develop your reports, but your query will be a fetchXml query.
