Hi Community,

I'm here with another scenario. My question is that how BC can create single G/L entry & Value entry while posting sale order by assigning Serial No. to item. (Item tracking Lines) I want just one value entry for an item with multiples quantity on shipment. Please find the attached screenshots to better understand my question.

The design of the solution relates in this way, please review the following: Item Ledger Entries vs. Value Entries - Dynamics 365 Business Central Insights (valentincastravet.com)

I believe BC will create a value entry for each serial tracked item, which is the normal behavior.

Value entries are created and tied to item ledger entries. However, the quantity of value entries is not directly tied to the number of serial numbers. There is no connection between serial numbers and value entries. Instead, the number of item ledger entries determines the number of value entries.

In this case, each unique serial number creates a separate item ledger entry. And for each item ledger entry, the system also creates a corresponding value entry.

So if there are 3 item ledger entries, the system will automatically generate 3 value entries as well - one value entry for each item ledger entry.
