Hi

Is it any way in Business Central that you can manage Parent -> Child relationship in Business Central when Child is acutely has Child as well.

Something like Parent -> Child -> Child

Something like

HQ company

Then HQ has different branch which are different brands

Then those brands each has different breaches

Fantastic. This is really helpful. I really appreciate your help here. Now I can see the logic.

It is really quite simple. Add a "Parent Customer" field to the Customer table with a TableRelation to the Customer."No.". Add a "Parent Customer Name" Flowfield to the customer table to display the name of the parent. Add both fields to the Customer Card page.

During the CRM Sync process, you use Subscribers functions to do the following:

    1. Confirm that the BC "Parent Customer" is coupled to a CRM Account
    2. Use that parent coupling to set the value of the "parent" field in the destination system for the current record being synced.

    Hi Greg Enns

Awesome. The grandchildren and synchronize with CRM is what we need. Can you please provide high level guideline here? I mean how you set it up this way?

We have a parent-child setup here at my company.

We have a field called "Parent Company". We have a few customers with 3 layers (grandchildren), and at least 1 with 4 layers (great grandchildren). We even synchronize the relationship to CRM where "Parent Account" is a base feature.

Hi, I have encountered customers who use customer number to manage. For example, Parent: C01, Parent -> Child: C01A01, Parent -> Child -> Child: C01A01B01

In this way, when collecting data, it can be filtered out according to the code, which is somewhat similar to G/L Accounts.

Hope this can give you some hints.

    Thanks.

I have not seen any ISV offering this but that does not mean it does not exist.

Maybe these guys have a solution?

In AL it would not be to hard as long as you do not need it down to any transaction but can always relay on the customer table keeping track of the current hierarchy.

    Thanks Mr Bruvik

I was almost sure this is not possible. But I thought to check. Do you know if this is possible through AL or ISV? Or it is going to break too man rules?

No, I am sure you know you can do that when it comes to contacts, but there is no such functionality out of the box when it comes to customers.

You could of course use a field like customer posting group or even dimensions to build that kind of parent child relation but it will only be a work around.

Yet another great product idea you can submit :)
