Dimensions on Customer Ledger Entries

Our customer wants to generate a Sales Aging Report by Global Dimension 1 and/or Global Dimension 2.

Invoices are created in CRM and loaded into Business Central - with the Global Dimension 1 and Global Dimension 2 posted on the Sales Lines as they are determined by the Item.

The the Sales Invoice Header does not have the Global Dimensions entered - due to them being determined by the Items.

We are changing the interface from CRM to take the Global Dimensions on the first Sales Line and putting them on the Sales Invoice Header - this will fix the issue going forward.

Is there a way/tool to update the Customer Ledger Entries created by these sales invoices with the Global Dimension values? Or an alternate way to provide an Aging Report by Global Dimension?

RE: Dimensions on Customer Ledger Entries

    Stephen,

You might consider using Jet Reports or Power BI. You can create a simple Sales Aging Report, by Customer, By Sales Document, and Sales Lines that read the Item on the row and pulls the Global 1 or 2 into the report. It is a quick report to create.

I am guessing the Customer cannot dictate the Global Dimensions, based on what you wrote but if it can I would default those Dimensions from the Customer and it will populate the Sales Lines.

As for updating the past entries, since you want to update the CLE, you will need your Partner to assist you.

    Thanks,

    Steve
