Marketing Page - Hero image lookup button missing

Posted on by 719

We have a client who is missing the Hero Image lookup button on the Marketing Page > Styles editor. This means they can't set the image.

I asked them to zoom out in their browser to see if the button would come into view but it didn't work.

Is there a reason why this button would be missing? The button I'm referring to is shown in the screen shot below from a different Dynamics instance.

    Hi makova and cloflyMao

Our client updated to the latest version of Dynamics 365 for Marketing and it resolved the issue with the button.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

    Hi Martin,

We will be happy to wait for your sharing any updates.

By the way, have you tried the method in doc?

You could check whether you client has the controlling code in his marketing page HTML source code.

By simply embedding those 3 lines of code into marketing page HTML source code, it'll bring us the hero-image button in Styles editor even if there is no hero-image button in marketing page initially.

    Hi cloflyMao and makova

    Thanks for your responses.

Our client has tried different browsers as and different users but the issue is still occurring for all of them.

They have raised a ticket with Microsoft Support to investigate. I will post any updates I receive here.

    Hey @Inksrm,

We're sorry that your client is experiencing problems. Can you please follow up with the OrganizationID (instance) and the object (Marketing Page) you are having issues with so we can investigate? Feel free to drop me a message.

    Thanks

    Hi Inksrm,

    1. Does this button miss in all existing(live) pages or just one page? And will it still miss when create a new page?

    2. Does the client is a user or a machine?

    > If user: sign in with another user with visible hero image button to test whether the issue still exist

    > If machine: clear browser cache and test with different browser

    3. I found some landing page templates(like cadiz the third) havn't this button by default, (while the first one alicante had it).

However, if you copy code which contains "hero-image" in the marketing page that already had Hero image button in its Styles editor to marketing page that hasn't it, the button will display in Styles editor.

Actually, this button is controlled by HTML tag, you could read this article for how to set a hero image button/control for a marketing page:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/marketing/custom-template-attributes#add-property-reference-attributes-to-implement-style-settings-in-the-body

A blank page with hero-image button after add customization code:
