We have Dynamics GP 2010 R2 with a SharePoint Integrated Reporting Services (SQL 2008 R2). We deployed the Dynamics Reports to SharePoint using the Report Deployment Tool in Dynamics. We have the need to give users access only to certain reports (item-level basis). We have several companies.
The reports don't work for the user (get an object reference error in SharePoint) unless I give "Contribute" permissions on the company folder itself. If I give permission on any of the folders within the company (like Sales, or Project), when the user browses to the library, they can't see the folder and when they run the report through a link, it throws an error. IF I give access to the company folder, then they see the folder in SharePoint and can run the report (along with all the other reports.) I followed the directions in the Reporting Services Security setup for Dynamics under SharePoint Security for Reporting Services. It doesn't make it clear where you need to start setting permissions (it says site level, and as this is a library, we certainly wouldn't do that.)
Is it not possible to give permissions on individual reports with this type of setup? I could put the report on a landing page so they only see that page--but they would still have access to the company folder if they knew where to look.
