Hey
I don't know if I am in the right forum but really need some advice. please point me to the correct forum if this is not the right one?
We have a client in Uganda with M365 and and Azure space setup who are wanting to implement BC however BC is not supported in Uganda yet so were told we should be able to get a tenant setup in Kenya which we can install on-prem into their Uganda Azure environment then migrate once Uganda is supported in BC.
The client doesnt want to have to sign into the BC client and his M365 software with different logins as they have everything setup with the correct domain in Uganda.
If we install the Kenyan BC on-prem to the Ugandan Azure environment would they be able to use their M365 logins with the Kenyan BC?
any help with this would be gratefully appreciated as we are trying to move forward with their implementation as soon as possible but this is a major hurdle.
Thanks
Laura
Thank you so much Inge that is really helpful to us.

The user license from the on-prem version of BC does not come from Azure. The on-prem license is uploaded to the BC-on prem database.
Only the license for BC-Online is coming from Azure AD.
So just to be clear (sorry I am not usually involved with licencing) If they have NPO status on the Azure domain then even though they are using a different domain for the on-prem version of BC that second domain doesn't also need NPO status as the user licence will come through from the Azure domain?
Thanks
Laura
The NPO status for the Azure AD should not affect the functionality of the way you log on in BC or how you use the On-Prem license for BC.
Azure will not be aware of the on-prem license, only the online license.
Hi Inge
Thank you for the response. One last query if their Ugandan Azure has NPO (Not for Profit) status would the Kenyan domain also need NPO status to allow us to link the BC licences bought?
Thanks
Laura
Hi,

Yes, if you correctly setup.
1. Create an VM on Uganda region Azure, and install Kenyan BC on the VM. Basically, there is no restriction on the relationship between the on-prem BC region and the region to which the VM belongs. However, different languages may need to be addressed. (ex. English-Japanese)
2. Setup Single Sign On or Federation or something else between M365 ID and AD account of VM. I am not familiar with this area. It is not a BC technology and would be better to ask someone who knows more about M365 and Azure.
I hope this helps you.

Yes, they should be able to also use their M365 logins for Business Central on-prem if it is configured correctly.
