Export to excel AX 2009

Hi all

I've experiencing some weird behaviour from the standard functionality - export to Excel in ax 2009. When I click export to excel from e.g. Customers, AX correctly counts the records which need to be exported, but when Excel opens nothing but a column heading is transferred

See picture for details

System - AX2009, Office 2007 - running a typical ax client, i.e. not on the AOS.

 Any thoughts on this?

 Best regards,

Steffen

    Hello Steffen,

did you check if you applied a filter in the data before exporting to excel?

    Regards,

     Hi Leticia

Yes I have. There is no filter, that is what I find so strange - the export "prompt" counts the records which need to be exported, approx. 1300, but when Excel opens nothing but the text is transfered.

A colleague suggested that it might have something to do with Office 2007, and that I should try exporting with only Office 2003 installed, but I cannot confirm this as I only have Office 2007 at my disposal.

    Regards,

    Steffen

In the export/import definition settings, in the 2nd tab, have you clicked "already exported data" ?

    Sorry,

it's in the definition group, Table Setup, Advanced Tab and tick "include already exported file"

Well - I've actually found out - in cooperation wit MS support team that it was a third party plug-in to Excel ( eDocPrinter ) which - in early versions ( I had v6.21. I think ) - interfered. Update the eDocPrinter programme to the newest version did the trick.

     Regards,

    Steffen

I resolved the issue in Windows 7, by copying two files from " C:\Windows\System32 " folder from any of other working system -[  clipsrv.exe and clipbrd.exe ]  to the Windows 7 system32 folder[ C:\WINDOWS\system32 ] ... now try to export to excel it works perfectly..

I had the same problem until I disabled the "Send to Bluetooth" COM Add-in in Excel and then everything worked fine.  I hope this helps.

I would like to inform you that please ensure that Ms Office is installed first before installing the Microsoft Dynamics AX client.
