"Divide by zero error encountered" produced when settling lines with 0.00 in accounting currency

When attempting to settle marked transaction lines in the Ledger settlements page, a "Divide by zero error encountered" error message is displayed when the transaction currency value is 0.00 for all lines. There is a total debit balance for the accounting currency and reporting currency in this instance. The transactions I am attempting to settle are within the same main account, and within the same currency, but across different financial dimension values.

The "Enable post currency realized gains/losses for ledger settlements" parameter is enabled in General ledger parameters. The parameter is described as "adjust[ing] the determination of full settlement based on transaction currency, except in cases where marked transactions have differing transaction currencies, in which case accounting currency values are used."

Expectation by our users is therefore that open 0.00 lines can be settled together (within the same main account/currency), and an automatic FX gain/loss posting is made by the system once settled.

    Hi,

What exact version of Dynamics 365 Finance are you running? There is a fix for 10.0.42, 10.0.43, and 10.0.44 released. You can find more details in LCS Issue search on issue 1022980 - Ledger Settlement throw "Attempted to divided by zero" error.

Most likely by installing the latest available quality update, the issue will be resolved.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your answer. We are running 10.0.45 (10.0.2345.76). Do you know if this bugfix included in any instances of version 10.0.45?

    Hi Neeraj,

Thanks for your answer. I notice that LCS issue 1049683 refers to this issue as addressed and resolved when partial ledger settlements is enabled. We are on version 10.0.45 (10.0.2345.76) with partial ledger settlements disabled in General ledger parameters. This issue seems to persist in version 10.0.45 when partial ledger settlements remains disabled.
