I am trying to activate batch number to a product set with  advanced warehousing enabled  and STD cost and non-batch controlled 

all transactions are financially posted and stock removed via counting journal 

I tried to use the function "Change tracking dimension group for items" but I get the following error:

 

The new dimension group cannot be assigned. Other financial dimensions apply, while stock transactions exist.

Anyone?

    Thanks for the link, however not entirely sure is my case.

    In my scenario the transactions are non batch-controlled and I would like to activate the batch number.

    Are we suggesting that this is not possible in D365?

    Hi Alessandro, do you have any transactions that are in "open order" status? When you add a batch number dimension you have to cancel all  open transactions and recreate them (for changing costing methods you can normally leave them in open status and it's fine but batch numbers are different)
