Note that you can restore it into SQL, but you cannot connect to it using the BC On-Premises version.

If you want to open it locally, you need to consider Docker.

    hi

restoring a Business Central database backup onto SQL Server on premise requires a few steps, and it's important to have the necessary expertise to ensure a successful restoration process. Here are some general guidelines for restoring a Business Central database backup:

First, make sure that you have a SQL Server instance set up on premise that is compatible with the version of Business Central you are restoring. Check the Business Central System Requirements to ensure compatibility.

Copy the database backup file to a location that is accessible to the SQL Server instance.

Open SQL Server Management Studio and connect to the instance.

Right-click on the Databases folder and select "Restore Database."

In the "Restore Database" window, select "Device" as the source type and click the "..." button to select the backup file.

Check the "Restore" checkbox for the backup file and select "Options" from the left-hand pane.

Under "Options," make sure that the paths for the "Restore As" and "Files" fields are correct and that the "Overwrite the existing database" checkbox is checked.

Click "OK" to start the restoration process.

It's important to note that the above steps are general guidelines and may vary depending on your specific setup and requirements.
