How to create relationships between account entities that are not parent / child, but partners, stakeholders, etc.

My question

I work with non-profit organizations.

When I have to create leads, contacts or accounts in Dynamics sales professional, I also need to connect the organizations, supporters, ambassadors, and other organizations / figures, who in various capacities / levels are connected and collaborate with the main record.

I need to track this information so that every time I view the account card I can have a global overview of all accounts or contacts, connected for various reasons, and have the ability to view the details of each link.

How can I do it?

Thanks

If you are not willing to use Relationships to define various roles, you can use Connections and Connection roles to define them between different accounts.

So for example, you can create two accounts - one as a Main account and the other as let's say Supporter and then use Out of the box Connections to connect them and define new Connection roles called "Supporter" and "Supported By" to identify the relationship between the two accounts.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. I had come to the same conclusion as you, but I can't apply the link action.

I explain with an example based on the contact entity.

I link the "a" record to the "b" record, and I save.

I go into the "A" record or "B" record tab, but I don't see the link created.

I attach screenshots to show which icon / command I am using.

I also tried to link account type entities, but the result is the same.

    Where am I wrong?

Hi - Can you see if you go to "Related" and then find "Connections" - your connections will be visible there.

Corelated_5F00_items_2800_Dynamics_2900_.jpgUnfortunately, you can't see it from me. I attach screenshots of the options visible in the "related" tab relating to a contact connected to another contact.

Ah okay - if you have Sys Admin/Sys customizer role available to you,  can you customize the form and add "Connections" on the Navigation pane? Or add Connections by inserting "Subgrid".

If I understand your answer, I need to enable the visibility of related links. Quite right?

Forgive me, but I have limited knowledge of the Dynamics administration structure.

Can you please write the path to access the settings to enable the display of related links?

    Thanks for the help provided

    Hi biasless

1.You can go settings > Customizations > Customize the system > Entities > Contact > Forms to select one form you need  if you have Sys Admin/Sys customizer role.

Then clicking 'Navigation' button to select connections from 'relationship explorer' pane.

2.Or you can click on Insert (Tab) > Insert a sub-grid > Select connections.

3.Or you can go 'Advanced Find' to create new connections.
