ABS function in Management Reporter 2012

Hi,

I have a question on using the ABS function in Management Reporter.2012. I am using the following formula:

IF C=0 THEN 0 ELSE D/ABS(C)

Management Reporter doesn't accept this formula, but if remove the ABS function it has nor problem saving my column format.

Anyone has any idea what may be wrong with the formula?

Please help.

Thanks

Amir

    Hello,

Can anyone please help with this issue. I have a client waiting, they need to run their month-end and can't because of this issue.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Has anybody else come across through this issue, or has any idea why ABS function gives an error?

    Thanks

Not elegant, but I fixed by replacing ABS(C) with (IF C<0 THEN -C ELSE C).

Thanks for the reply Clay. But this is what we did to fix this issue too. But it is really weird that MR doesn't provide a simple function like this.

There are so many other things that are missing from MR that were present in FRx. Our customers are having very difficult time using MR because of those missing things.

If you want the entire value to use absolute value, you can also use a custom format override of "0;0". This will suppress the minus sign in front of the number.

I'm having a similar issue when an ABS formula previously used in FRX. I've tried variations of  (IF C<0 THEN -C ELSE C); but can't seen to get the correct results.

Here's my current formula:  IF ABS(E)>2500 THEN C ELSE 0

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.
