modern POS quotations

Hi,

I am setting up modern POS to capture sales quotations, Default Order type in Retail Parameters is set to Quotation and all other functionality related to sales orders and cash sales is switched off for modern POS.

I am now noticing that, whenever a quotation is captured from the default modern POS screen that is not synched with Dynamics AX, unless the create a quotation button is clicked prior to creating a new transaction.

Do you know of a reason for this, or why the initial default transaction screen on the POS is not set for a new quotation?

thanks

    Hi,

What I understand that Sales quotation is getting created only when you click on "Click a Quotation".

That's the standard functionality. Whenever you do any transaction on POS it's assume that you're doing cash & carry transactions. apart from that whatever you do, you need to specify to POS that weather it's "Sales Order" or "Sales Quotation".

"Create Quotation" complete/Post the transactions on POS.

    Thanks,

    Manvendra

    Thanks for your detailed reply.

What is the purpose of Default Order type in Retail Parameters then please?

    Hi,

In Retail Parameter if you select "Sales Order" and when you create Customer order on POS, system by default creates "Sales Order". in same way if you select "Quotation" and you create Customer Order system creates "Sales Quotation" by default.

And You can better experience it at EPOS. Try to change parameter and run Job "1110-Global configuration" after that create customer order. Under Order information you will find Sales type as "Quote".

It's work in same way as "Procurement and Sourcing Parameter" You select "Purchase Type".

If you select Journal and try to create new purchase Order system creates Purchase order as Journal.

    Thanks,

    Hi Manvendra,

I have the Retail Parameter set to 'Quotation' and the job 1110 was successfully applied multiple times, however when I create a transaction from Modern POS, that would still default to a sales type transaction.

What I need is that once a transaction is entered that would be automatically a sales quotation, as per the Retail Parameter, which apparently is not happening.

Would like to know button's properties what are you clicking for creating Customer Order.. If It's "Create Sales Order" then it will create sales order only.

You can replace that button's properties with "Create Quotation".

    It will Create Sales Quotation.

    Hi Manvendra,

The issue is not with the button. The button properties are correctly set to create a new quotation and that works just fine.

The problem is that the default transaction setup on Modern POS is to capture a 'cash and carry' sale not a quotation - as it is set to Quotation in the Retail Parameters.
