Problem with system message 5004

Just added a user to our domain and then set up her workstation.  When she tries to log into Dynamics SL, we get "Unable to locate the message file S:\Solomon\Dynamics\MESSAGES.CSV".  Then, when I hit OK, I get System Message 5004, "Message was not found in messagesfile".  If I log in as an adminstrator, I don't get the error.  I have tried setting permissions for her, but nothing or any level of permissions seems to help.  Any input would be appreciated.   Thank you.

This happened only with a single user?

If not, do you import the messages file into Dynamics SL ?

    Hi

It seems like an issue with accessing the folder. Please provide the full Read & Write access to S:\Solomon folder for that user and let me know.

    Thanks

    Modify the following registry keys:

    KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\DynamicsSL--->

ACTION: Change the INSTALLDIR and ParentDirectory entries from the UNC path to the mapped drive path

KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Solomon\SolomonIV Tools for Visual Basic -->Parent Directory

ACTION: Change the UNC path to the mapped drive path. example change the \\servername to sharedriveletter:   Don't forget the colon:

On 32 bit operating systems modify the following keys.

    KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DynamicsSL

KEY: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Solomon\SolomonIV Tools for Visual Basic

    Jim,

This can occur if the registry entries for the client are using a UNC path instead of a mapped drive but the shortcut to Dynamics SL is through a mapped drive.  In particular, SL 2015 CU1 ends up with this issue but I have seen it with SL 2011.

    Here is something to try:

Use REGEDIT to do the following:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\DynamicsSL---> Change the INSTALLDIR and ParentDirectory entries from the UNC path to the mapped drive path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Solomon\SolomonIV Tools for Visual Basic -->Parent Directory change the UNC path to the mapped drive path

And if we already gave Full control to the SL folder and still sending the same error as it could be.
