Restricting Data Fields so that users can view them but not export the data

Hi There

I wanted to check if it is possible to add field level security which restricts data entered into fields from being exported into Excel ?

We want end users to be able to view the data within the D365 system - but due to it's sensitive nature we want to ensure that end users can't export it into Excel which then opens up the potential for that data to be shared outside of our Organisation.

I know that we can restrict access to the Export function in its entirety - but that is not an option as end users need this functionality.

Any thoughts or responses greatly appreciated.

    Hello Dave,

    Unfortunately security is not that granular.

    Here is what you can do - create a plugin that handles RetrieveMultiple message, checks parent context and if it is not null and message is ExportToExcel - you can wipe out fields that should not be exported. But obviously that doesn't protect you from export that uses Reports or manual retyping of sensitive data.
