Hello Experts,

First off all, I will say a "very Happy New Year".

Few times ago we have implemented the warehouse module in our navision system. And it is running smoothly. But now We have some future plan, we want to receive and issue through hand held device. Is there any possibility, you guys can give some idea about the hand held devices and its functionality and how we connnect with our running navision erp system.

And where's we can purchase these devices.

Kindly advise.

You can integrate handheld device with navision by using text file i.e. you can transfer and receive data using text file . You need to speak to you integration partner for handling the text file.

yes possible and its simple ,

even Android store also having "mobile phone app" , you can use it over your mobile phone

but remember , if you are doing this means you are enabling your link to out side of your company network(global network), so make sure with your network security

also you can use VPN tunnel ,

    Short answer is "YES".

It is possible to integrate handheld devices with Dynamics NAV. Integration is totally depend on your business requirement and devices. If you want to have live synchronization then web services will be the best option, if you can have a delay then text or xml integration is possible.

You might have to have a chat with your current Dynamics NAV partners and get a idea from them.

You can get the kind of handheld barcode scanners that attach to an existing computer and enhance that workstation with the ability to scan, or you can get the stand-alone kind of handheld barcode scanners that act as their own mobile computer. These stand-alone kind connect to NAV wirelessly through a web service much the same way a normal computer would.

Example of the mobile computer style:
