Management Reporter - Balance type reversing issue (Dynamics SL)

Posted on by 420

We had a report running quite well for a while against many companies.  Suddenly in one of our companies, the balance sign has switched completely for our revenue accounts.  For all other companies the revenue balance as a credit amount shows as a positive number, but for one specific company, the credit amount is going into MR with a positive balance and MR reverses the sign on it, incorrectly showing it as negative number.  We do have the "C" indicator in the row format definition.  Any ideas?  Did anyone ever come up against this situation?  It is very sudden and I've check in Dynamics SL and all the numbers are correct.

    You want this one: mbs.microsoft.com/.../SL2011_MR2012_HotFix.zip

it's called  "Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 Hot Fix (SL 2011 and SL 2011 SP1)" on the MR downloads page.

Hi Butch,  thanks for the advice.  I checked in Partnersource and there isn't a specific hotfix... do I need to run all of them.  Is there a specific KB number that I can refer to?  I appreciate the help!

If you have access to Customer Source or Partner Source you need a hotfix. I suspect that you overwrote it by executing the "Execute Master Views and Stored Procedures"

You need the hotfix titled "Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 Hot Fix (SL 2011 and SL 2011 SP1)"

    UPDATE

We can trace the incident back to running a Dynamics SL db utility in 2 of our companies - the "Execute Master Views and Stored Procedures" update.  We have about 14 companies in total.  After that we noticed that for the 2 companies only, all others are ok - the revenue numbers are correct but coming up with the wrong sign... coming up as negative when they should show positive.. on the same report all other companies are showing the revenue amounts with the correct sign.

Any ideas? Did anyone ever come up against this situation? It is very sudden and I've check in Dynamics SL and all the numbers are correct.  Everything in MR looks right from a row, column and tree setup.. I'm convinced it's the Utility that did something.  What can I do?
