Workflow error in Project management and accounting

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Project management module and no experience on this, when i am trying to configure workflows in Project management module in Development environment  i am facing an error - An unexpected error has occurred while opening the workflow. See the event log on the AOS and contact your system administrator to resolve the issue.


I tried for solution in forum and many answered as 

  • Refresh WCF in client configuration:
    • In Administrative Tools select AX 2012 Configuration
    • in Configuration Target select Business Connector (non-interactive use only)
    • In Configuration create new configuration if you only have the original,
    • click on Connection tab, then click on Refresh configuration.
  • Stop AOS service
  • Delete files in Xppil (files ONLY, don’t delete the folders inside Xppil)
    • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\60\Server\(your dev. repo. name)\bin\XppIL
  • Start AOS
  • Generate Full CIL
  • Data dictionary synchronize

I tried all the above solution twice but still i am facing same issue, can someone assist me on this issue.

    Hi Bharath,

    You can check what Windows version you are running (32 or 64 bit). I have seen issues where 32 bit was not working (or vice versa). Did you try to open the workflow as system administrator?

    Hi Andre,

    We are using 64bit.

    Yes i have system administrator role and i tried to open workflow as system administrator. I tried the same thing in test environment i don't have any issue there. The issue is only in DEV.

    Hi Bharath,

    Also check in DEV if the user is present/active with the same permissions in all partitions. Then I'm running out of suggestions... :(

    Yes, user is active with a role system administration permissions.

    What did the log say '..........See the event log on the AOS "

    The event log have the following error-

    Workflow threw an exception for the following reason: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state.

    I have done this process also. But i am still getting the error.
