Modify Closing Balance Report Margins

ReportReport
Posted on by

I'm still fairly new to the program, but I can't seem to find the option to adjust the margins in the "Closing Balance Report" for our cash reconciliations. We're using Nolan ABR, and when we print the reconciliation report (Closing Balance Report) the left margin is completely up against the edge of the page. I assume that there's a way to adjust the format of the report similar to what I've done with the check printing layout screens, I just haven't found the option.

Alternatively, is this just as easy as adjusting the margins in the print dialogue box?

Typically, when a Report Writer form is printed, data is printed relative to the margins defined by the printer driver.  Different printer drivers impose different margins depending on the abilities of the printer itself.

Also, remember that you can use the arrow keys to move fields and objects one pixel at a time rather than 1 grid with the mouse.

This doesn't quite answer my question (we're printing to pdf, not a physical printer), and I still don't know where to find a formatting layout screen for report writer. I'll pay more attention to this the next time we run the process to see if there are any margin options available in the print dialogue, but I don't think that's the case.

the pdf printer will still have a driver so original suggestion stands.

watch the drivers too.  I've seen people where pdf looks great but when they print from gp it looks awful.   and it's the printer driver being different from the pdf driver.
