FA Depreciation Proposal - Journal

Hi Experts,

Under which circumstances could a proposal be run for a financial period, where it duplicates lines in the depreciation journal - I.e. each asset had two depreciation lines for the month?
This is besides a proposal being run twice within the same journal (as the user is adamant that they did not do this).

The assets in the journal had depreciated until the said month.

    Hi NMC2,

This is possible when the system thinks it needs to depreciate for more than one month. Do you know if the date is the same for these lines?

    Hi NMC2,

Also check whether or not you have multiple value models / books assigned to the fixed asset.

    Best regards

    Ludwig

    Hi Andre,

    Thank you so much.

Yes, the dates are all the same on all lines.

When I looked into at least 5 of the assets, they had all been depreciated for the prior financial month.

    Hi Ludwig,

    Thank you for your response.

No there are not multiple value models for the assets.

    HI NMC2,

Have you already tried to remove all lines and regenerate the depreciation proposal? Do you know if the previous depreciation was posted before generating this depreciation journal?

    Hi All,

I did some investigation and created the Depreciation Proposal, then ran another proposal on the same journal.

I added the line numbers, and compared it to the journal in question.

The line numbers are exactly the same, therefore I can conclude that the proposal was run twice.

This is the only way I can think of proving this

    Hi NMC2,

When you post the depreciation proposal, does AX update your remaining depreciation periods in your value model? Can such a missing update be responsible for what you see?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
