In Microsoft Dynamics GP 2016, a user was able to enter a new Employee record with the information from an existing user, including SSN. I did not think that was possible. Is anyone aware of conditions where this would be possible?

One item of note, if the SSN is not valid in terms of formatting (e.g. 000-49-1951), the system does not warn that it is assigned to another employee. Otherwise, "valid" SSN's, when assigned to subsequent employees, will warn the user, but allow them to continue.
Dynamics GP does not constrain the system and require SSN's to be unique. Many employers will use a new Employee ID for rehired employees. This is generally ok, unless the employee is terminated and rehired in the same calendar year. This situation will cause the employee to receive multiple W-2's for that year. Hope this helps.
