Quick campaign access directly from Contact record

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi, could anyone help me pls. on the following 2 issues?

1) I want to display the Quick campaigns right on the Contact record. Imagine that someone is calling based on Quick campaign email, I open the Contact based on the caller phone call/name and I want to see whether this contact was addressed with any Campaign. On the contact record I can see only Last Campaign Date but not the name of the campaign. I tried to adjust the Contact form, but there is no possibility to add field Quick campaign name (there is nothing under Marketing item in the form).

2) The second question is related to the first one - based on the inbound call I want to have possibility to select Response on Quick campaign (e.g. that customer is not interested) right from the Contact record (something like I can see there was a Quick campaign on the customer so I just click it and select Response to that campaign). I don't know if there is such a possibility. At the moment when I open the Contact I create inbound call activity and then I have to go to the Quick campaign from another menu, find the contact again and create the Response. I guess there must be some way to access Response right from the Contact.

Thank you very much

If you go to the top navigation on the Contact to the related records, one of the navigation areas is Activities.  You will see all your Campaign Responses relating to that Contact there.

If you want, you can configure the Contact form to put that grid of Activities on the front page of the form, instead of behind that navigation.  Assuming you're an admin, you can just choose the menu option "Form" or "Edit Form" to get to the Contact form editor.  From there, choose Insert -> Subgrid and select Related activities.  The subgrid will get dropped onto your Contact form, and you can drag and drop it wherever you want.

Thank you, what do you mean by adding Activity subgrid to the form. Can you please explain a little bit detailed - where can I find it on the form. And does it mean that after adding this on the form then I will see "Campaign response" as the Activity on the Contact?

You should already see the email send to them via the Quick Campaign in their activity history.  Also, if you add the Activity subgrid to the form (and not just the default social pane), you can access Campaign Responses just like you would any other Activity on a Contact.  So instead of making an inbound call, literally just make the Campaign Response from the same area.

You could also use the Ribbon Workbench to add a custom button that directly opens a Campaign Response while on a Contact, if you wanted to make the process a little bit faster.
