Integration Manager - Multiple Integrations

Client had several companies and staff for each company used IM to import transactions into each company.   Now those companies have merged into a single entity with all the various staff now accessing the single company.  Now the possibility exists that several people may be attempting to import similar data into company at the same time.  I would like to know what are the ramifications: for instance how will transaction numbers be assigned? Will IM break if two or more people are attempting to use the same integration from different workstations at the same time?   The system in question is GP 2010/SP3.  Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yes, it will break and you can't have two people accessing the same import at the same time.  It will not support multiple uploads.  Time to look at Smart Connect where you could have more than one integration running.  Or look at the new 2013 R2 where they will be able to copy and paste transaction into Great Plains.  But if the company is using Integration Manager that much, time to spend a little more money and get a tool that works a lot quicker then Integration Manager.  Depending on what you are importing take a look at a couple of the new products out there.

Thanks for the quick response.  I need some clarification.  I left out something in my original question, it should have said:  "Will IM break if two or more people are attempting to use the same type of  integration from different workstations at the same time?"  For instance, if a clerk is integrating payables invoices for what used to be company A at the same time another clerk is trying to import payables for what used to be Company B.  Each using the payables integration for their specific company.  In other words there is an Integration for Payables to Company A and a separate Integration for Payables to Company B.  Both of which now import into the Main Company.  I hope this helps explain.

As long as they are different integrations they will run, but they will slow down.  How many transactions are they bringing in at a time.  BTW, they are re-designing IM in RU2 to run on GP Web Services.  Once we all get a look at how this is going to work, might be a good reason to move off of 2010 and onto 2013.

    Hi Michael,

Any luck with this? We're also looking to integrate our systems. A friend of mine recommended a solution called Tenfold. It supports integration with MS Dynamics and other CRM and phone systems. You can try their free demo first and see how it goes.
