Am I correct in saying that there is not a way of monitoring who has opened GP's Customization Maintenance window and when? For this, we would need to rely on a third-party means, such as that of Fastpath's auditing tools. Correct?

Audit Trail and Electronic Signatures modules are still available through http://www.meritsolutions.com/, and we are using AT. It just covers data changes on the tables only.

Yes this is correct.. GP used to have an Audit-Trail module, but it was retired in 2010 I belive and is no longer available. The current Activity Tracking in GP does not cover the Customization Maintenance AFAIK. Don't know if Audit Trail used to cover that.
However, the Activity Tracking covers the opening success / access failure to Reporter Writer & Modifier..
