Data Connector: Ledger Journal Entries are not published

Hi,

I cretaed a Jornal in General ledger and opened in Excel by using "Generaljournal line entry" I can open the journal and tried to add some data - no matter if manually or if I use copy & paste - when I press "publish" I get this

I tried many ways. It was working in a different UI, so i´m sure I didn´t make a mistake. I signed in with my corrcet user account, the Server URL is correct, and my user role is, too.

Does anybody have an explanation for this?

Hi,

I have two questions?

1. It may sound weird, but did you refresh the excel before you added\changed something?

2. Are you using a standard entity for the excel add-in or a customized one?

Normally the refresh should take place after the Publishing is finished. What happens if you add a line manually in the General Journal before you open in Excel and change that line in Excel and Publish? And if that works open the journal again in Excel and add a new line in Excel and Publish?

Can you provide more details about the Excel file and the fields you are trying to import values into?

Based on the screenshot, some values in the Excel add-in may be overridden. This could be due to updates of existing values. Please ensure that you are:

Importing journal lines for a specific journal and within a single company.

Using values in the correct format to ensure they are eligible for import.

Hi,

This issue is either because of the following:
1. For a different UI, ensure that the Excel templates are republished in D365 F&O.

2. Also, changing the connection URL won't help because the data is cached in the excel workbook and continue to treat it as existing data. Suggestion is to manually clear the excel cache.

Dear Hylke,

I can create a journal with as many lines as I want, export them to Excel, make changes and publish with out any problems. The problem is only with new lines, or completely new entries.

What do you mean by "It was working in a different UI"? The only UIs that come to my mind is the one from D365 and the Excel UI.

Or do you mean environment, like the production and sandbox?

To show some more details to my problem:

I tokk the suggested data of of the menu in sidepanel. I was not able to add any data by copy & paste, oder put in a whole file.

I even tried refresh before adding something.

I can export a file with some lines and I can change them, but I can not add any information in new lines.

@ Adis: my last chance atm seems to find out about the customized entity you mentioned
