Voided check in error

Check was issued,  cleared bank and reconciled.  In a following month the check was voided. 

Why would the check be allowed to be voided?

Doesn't the purchasing module recognize a check has been reconciled in financial module?

Now this has happened is there a way to correct the issue

    Ruth the problem you encountered is not new and will continue to plague users for a long time.   However, Sandip has provided you with a good link to the Feature video that discusses the systems ability to deal with Voiding of a Reconciled Check.

    Granted once a check has been processed and cashed I find it hard to explain a reason for Voiding that document, but Microsoft Dynamics GP has the feature to manage that event.

    Now that you have voided the check, you need to re-create the check, as if it never happened, of course you do not need to send the paper or EFT to the Vendor or the Bank.  If it was voided and the GL was posted, then you need to record the payment and post to the GL to re-enter the data to the GL .  Be sure to use the correct dates.
