Hi Team,
We are looking at implementing Advanced warehouse management systems at a furniture trading company, would need your suggestions on how to handle the below scenario / suggestions on add-on's that can be used for managing business operations.
| Sl.No. | DESCRIPTION |
| 1 | BOM EXPLOSION Functionality on Purchase order, as customer will share PO with parent item on line leve to Vendor, WMS to receive instructions to pick child items / components involved |
| 2 | GRN should trigger the increase of Parent item on D365 F&O rather than child items |
| 3 | Transfer Order done from Receiving warehouse to store or e-commerce website should be on parent level, WMS should receive pick instruction for child items |
| 4 | Movement of Quality rejected / damaged components are moved to damaged warehouse at component level |
| 5 | Sales at stores are done on Parent level, WMS to receive pick instructions at component level (BOM Explosion) - But if the items available at store are at Parent level, WMS fails to pick components due to non availability |
| 6 | E-Commerce w/h should display all items at parent level |
| 7 | Inventory related reports should be at parent level |
| 8 | sales detailed reports should be at parent level |
| 9 | MRP should be at parent level |
| 10 | BI reports should be at parent level for forecasting and planning supply / demand. |
| 11 | Financials / valuation should happen at parent level during each transactions (procurement, transfer, sales) |
| 12 | System should have the ability to sale components as indivitual items |
We did use the BOM explosion functionality on Purchase and Sales order, but they would need the same on Transfer orders, as the components list are huge in number for each parent item.
Assembly and disassembly of parent items not an options, as it doesn't integrate with WMS.
You suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you !
hi Praveen,
I would suggest hiring a "WMS" consultant.
Here we can help you on the issue but we can't provide you detailed solution on customer requirement.
Thanks,
