All,

Anyone knows if we still need to get the license for GPConnNet.DLL from MS. If so, can you please tell me who you contacted from MS for this particular license. I contacted our Partner and they wanted us to open a case with MS. MS operations team have no clue on what I'm talking about. Contacted them twice and 2nd time they said they will check and get back to me.

    Hi,

Have you checked this article ?

    http://msdynamicswiki.com/2013/05/22/how-to-upgrade-applications-to-use-the-gpconn-dll-file-or-the-gpconnnet-dll-file-in-microsoft-dynamics-gp/

I don't think that there is any license required for GPConnNet.DLL, but the issue might be related to the version of the DLL that doesn't match GP's major version... I've had an issue with while trying to use a 3rd party plug-in that was not recompiled for the most recent GP version...

Thank you, Beat. Yes, I did. Problem was that we did not have license and contacted MS Dynamics Operations and then Tech support, but they didn't have any idea about this licensing requirement. After several attempts (and referring that article to Tech Support contact when I called last time) it was escalated to Terry it seems and got a response from Terry this morning that she will generate the key send ASAP.

We need to pass the registration keys as parameters when initializing this GPConnection object.

    "----

    Init:

The Init function initializes the GPConnection object using the supplied registration keys. This method must be called before any other methods of the object are used.

Syntax: Function Init(ByVal Key1 As String, ByVal Key2 As String) As Integer

Thanks a lot for posting this back.. this is good to know... Is the reg key based on the GP company name or GP registration key ?

I guess it's based on just the Partner / Customer. Once you get it, it never expires as per Terry's response.
