Managing Tasks against Quotes/Orders

Hello All, 

We are looking to streamline some of our Dynamics processes. For this particular case, we are looking to determine whether there is a way to create tasks against a quote or an order so that we can create follow up points, etc. Right now, we are doing everything manually and adding updates into the "notes" section on each quote/order; however, this does not provide any notifications and where there are a number of orders open, there is no way to know the status of said order. Furthermore, it would be great to know whether a quote/order has been submitted - is there a status check field for this?

    Hi

    I know expertise may provide more info here. 

    We had a same need and we ended up asking our partner for customizations. Our customization did  

    1) added auto-populate Quote Date field to Quote (I know other may say Document Date can be use for Quote Date but we had other use for it)

    2) Added Status field to Quote Page and List. We asked for table that we can add as many as status we want. 

    3) Create Code unit that runs through job queue and generate notification/email based on giving criteria. (if X days pass and status is y then ...)

    As for the Status field, Quotes and Orders has the current Status field but not an option called 'Submitted'. To add this value you would have to speak with your Partner to write an extension. You might consider adding a field called 'Submitted' that is a checkbox. As for the other tasks, you might consider using Power Automate. Here is link to read more about it but this might solve the notification task you have been looking for:
