Hello,
Occasionally SL will throw this error:
“System message 9827, “There is an inconsistency between the SQL Server login IDs andtheir passwords with the passwords stored in the Microsoft Dynamics SL System database. Pleasehave the database administrator run Database Maintenance and update the database using the Synchronize All Ownership & Security Update scenario,”Can anyone explain why passwords become unsynchronized between SQL Server and the SL system database? I thought it might be related to people changing their network passwords but recently we had an experience that disproves that idea.
A third-party timesheet application started having consistent timeout issues (all day). Its SQL login is set up so that its password will never expire. We ran the “Synchronize All Ownership & Security Update” and the timeouts were immediately resolved. One thing to note about the SQL account: it was created using SQL Server, not through SL, and the account has not been imported into SL.
Can anyone help me understand why it appears that the Database Maintenance utility, “Synchronize All Ownership & Security Update”, fixed our timeout issue? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks,
Andrea Stone
