Restrict SmartList Builder content based on user running the SmartList

Is there a way in SmartList Builder to restrict the results based on the user who runs the SmartList?  I know I can add a restirction based on user-class when building a SmartList but going that route seems to mean that I'd have to build a seperate version of each SmartList for each user class.

Of course Devon is exactly correct.  This is a neat little trick that we have well documented in out book Customizing GP with The Builders.

That would be the "equal to one of list" or "not equal to one of list"

Thanks, that worked.  There doesn't appear to be a way to have a restriction based on a set of specific values.  Something like giving a user or user class access if Value1 is A, B or D but not if it's C or E.  Can that be done as well?

If you are in GP10 ot higher you can use the restriction based upon user or user class.

How this works is that you enter a seporate restriction for EACH user or user class (depending on which you want to use.)    Such as Salesperson ID is equal to "SMITH" for user ID JSmith; Salesperson ID is equal to "WHITE" for user ID FWhite...  then the smartlist will apply the correct restriction based upon the user running the smartlist.

One thing to remember - is that if you add a new user and give access to the SmartList without adding a new restriction in Builder they will see all of the data.

This has been on my list of things to blog about... maybe I need to do that (A picture would really help explain this!)
