Production Order Cannot Be Updated

"Quantity cannot be updated with inventory reference Prod. reported as finished journal because inventory transactions with status Ordered, Arrived, or Registered are insufficient."

I'm receiving this error when a specific production order is attempted to be reported as finished. The inventory transactions on the production order is empty. Also when I look at InventTrans, InventTransOrigin, and InventTransOriginProd, there is no record of this production order. However, I am able to find the component items related to the item on this production order on InventTransOrigin but not the item itself.

Does anyone have any idea what could be happening?

I suggest posting a new thread, or answering the previous questions relating to customisations, importing etc.

Does InventTrans to this production order exists?

Hi, Has anybody resolve this issue? I have similar problem. I found a couple of prod orders without InventTrans and InventTransOrigin InventTransType Production. Normaly Should be transaction Ordered after creating Prod Order. When I estimate, release, I don't get any error, but status doesn't change.

Is it any solution to reproduce missing transaction and finally orders normally?

Okay, thanks for the info and reply. I haven't noticed any other production orders with this error, but I will keep that in mind about our imports. The joining transactions on the aforementioned tables (InventTrans, InventTransOrigin, and InventTransOriginProdTable), you mean?

Chances are that this is related to an import. A manually entered production order should invoke the necessary business logic and should not create this mistake. That is, if you haven't broken standard logic with customizations.

Further more... Creating the joining transactions should make you able to power through.

    Good luck.

RE: Production Order Cannot Be Updated

Most of our production orders are imported, but the timing of this one leads me to believe it was entered manually. I'll have to check with our production manager to be certain.

Since the transactions are missing, would the solution in this case be to recreate the record in InventTrans, InventTransOrigin, and InventTransOriginProdTable?

    Hi bsarge,

The transactions are missing. That is indeed causing the issue. Can you indicate if there are customizations to create production orders or has Data Import Export Framework being used to import production orders?

Or someone has deleted some records in the table (by accident).
