Adding name field in email templates

Hi,

I know that when you go to SETTINGS > BUSINESS > TEMPLATES you can select to add the Full Name field so that each email is personalised for the recipient it's intended for.

But how can you add that field when you're creating an EDM (from create new email template)? The code doesn't work across the two sections.

Is it possible?

    I've created some email templates in CRM using HTML, but I want to add a name field for which the code should be {!User : Full Name;}

    So what i'm trying to find out is how to add a name field to my email template, so that when it is sent to someone, the field populates with the name that the email is assigned to. For example, I'm subscribed to a microsoft newsletter, and my name is Jenny. When my email is added to the marketing list for a newsletter send, when I receive the email it will say in the email Hi Jenny or whatever it may be.

    Does that make sense?

    It's like when you've signed up to a newsletter, and you''ll see that it is addressed to you.

    Hi,

    You may try the below steps :

    1. Go to settings >> business >> templates

    2. Create a new Template >> Select Contact or Account or any other record type instead of Global

    3. At the Top of the Email Template there is an option "Insert/Update" >> then Click on Add >> Select the record type and the required field and add the required field at the required place.

    thanks  a lot.

    Hi,

    I've already tried that, as I said in my original post.

    Where I would like the field is in the custom email templates when I'm using the HTML/block/freestyle editor.
