POS Help establishing a maximum tax

For our business we have a 6% city sales tax, however, when a customer makes a purchase for an amount over $2500.00 we only charge a maximum of $150.00 in sales tax. I have tried setting up a tax feature that charges just a flat $150.00 but every time I try to use it the tax resets to $0.00. Any suggestions as to how I can set this up properly so only $150.00 is charged for purchases over $2500.00?

We currently use this feature and its works but only on a per item level. We need it to work as a total transaction. For example, if a customer purchases 4 items at a grand total of $5000.00, the total tax needs to be $150.00.
