Restricting the Data entry for an item in AX2012

If for an item ,if we want to restrict the user to not to add/delete the stock through movement journal but want to allow purchase, production or stock adjustment etc..   or if we want the user not to put  any  financial journal to stock a/c manually(general journal). How do we do this in Ax?

    Hi Biju,

    Related to manual entries on the ledger account, you can use the setting 'Do not allow manual entry' on the main accounts.

    There is no setup for allow/disallow use of journals per item. You need to customize this. Probably you can use eXtensible Data Security for this.

    sorry for delay in replying. Can you please let me know how do we implement XDS security for certain items, so that stock of that particular item is increased only using Product receipt (No movement journal to increase the stock). 2) similarly how can we implement the value of stock a/c of an item should not be increased/decreases using financial journals.

    How can we achieve this in AX 2012
