Sales Order Processing - Send Emails as PDFs

Hello,

I have Sales Order Processing set up in test mode and the invoices are emailing fine in .doc (Word) format, but in PDF format, it looks bunched up and unattractive. Is there a simple fix to get the PDF template to look like Word? PDF is preferable when sending out invoices. See the bunched up section below, and how the 'Est. Price' doesn't extend all the way to the Total beneath.

Here is a step-by-step instructions on how to activate the pwd.. it was for older Office versions, but I believe that not much has changed in the process.

Hello - following up on my above question. How does one password protect a word document in GP? Is there a universal setting, such that ALL future invoices will have this same password?

Yes - I am accessing Office 2016 from the Terminal Server where GP is located.

You don't need any special setup to use the SOP module from any other GP client, it's part of the base setup of GP already. Use the same user to logon to GP and you'll have access to the Sales Order entry window.

Adding remote desktop to the game can make things even worse, as your Terminal Server (or Citrix server) might not have the same drivers installed.. There is no setting changes required in Word, but are you accessing the Office 2016 from that same Terminal Server ?

I don't think that sending the Invoice in Word Format or PDF makes any differences.. there are settings in GP that allows you to protect the invoice generated with a password, so it doesn't get altered by someone else. The same goes for PDF I believe.

You should try to print the invoices from a local GP client that has Word 2016 installed and check out the format. It that works fine, then your issue is with the TS setup and the remote apps.

Thanks for your help. I have not tried printing the report from another computer. I am testing out SOP, so would I have to have SOP installed on another computer in order to test as PDF? I am printing in Remote Desktop and sending as email to my email address.

    Office 2016 is installed.

Any suggestions outside of printing on another computer? Is there a Word setting to change?

Would sending an invoice in Word format be sloppy?

    Hi,

It looks like you're having a conflict with the PDF format and the Word template generator.. Have you tried to print the same report from another computer with a fresh setup of GP and no other PDF software installed ? what's your Office version ? GP with Word template is supposed to be able to product PDF formats out-of-the-box with no additional SW installed..
