How do I schedule an AOS as batch?

Hi,

I've read somewhere that you can schedule AOS to run as a batch server at certain times of day. Is that true? If so, how do I accomplish this?
The current default batch group has 2 AOS selected to be used as batch servers. However, during off hours, I would like all 4 to be used.

How can I accomplish this?

I have the same question (0)

Which version of AX are you talking about?

    Sorry, Finance and Operations (10.0.7) Update31 (7.0.5457.35488)

I read it on this blog:

    http://deepakdyanmicsax.blogspot.com/2017/12/batch-server-tuning.html?m=1

"The batch server will have a list of batch groups that it will cater to. It will also have schedule which dictates during which times the AOS will act as a batch server and how many threads it will be using for batch tasks during schedule time. This is quite useful when client serving AOS are used as batch server during off-peak times."

The blog post is about AX2012.

That explains it then.. Just being tired. I will have to manage with batch groups and setting the time slot per batch job. Thanks

You don't manage the infrastructure anymore in the way as you did in AX 2012. It's now hosted in cloud and things like application servers are managed by Microsoft.

As far as I know, all applications servers in F&O work as batch servers. You still have a certain level of control, though. For instance, you can use batch groups and you can set up active periods on individual batch jobs.

Yes, it would seem that you can select AOS servers to be run as batch servers on the default batch group (the empty batch group). You can specify which AOS instances are used per batch group and then define a batch job by group and active period.

The active period is mostly a filter if you have a recurring job running every hour

EDIT: It seems new functionality for this is coming:
