Line Item Comments Not Printing on SOP Picking Ticket

I would like the line item comments to print on the picking ticket. I am selecting the checkbox to include them but the comments are not printing on the SOP Blank Picking Ticket Order Entered report. They will print on the SOP Blank Picking Ticket Bin Sequenced report. I looked at both reports in Report Writer and it doesn't look like there is anything different that would be causing the one to print correctly and the other not. I have tried printing the modified and the original report and they both are excluding the line items comments. Does anyone know how to get that to work?

    Luckily in this case, the client was ok with inserting the comment text for the line items and having a space if there wasn't a comment.  We were checking the box to include the line comments, but that table wasn't even in the report until I added it, so I'm not sure why.  I didn't look at the original report since it had already been heavily modified, so I left it at that.

    Hi,

    Several thoughts here:

    1.)  Yes Leslie, you are correct.  When the report is a graphical report, the comment text works as you describe.  If it is a "Text" report, it will auto resize based on the size of the comment.

    2.)  Even on the default report, I get line item comments printing.  I'm using GP2010.  When printing the picking ticket, are you marking to "Include Line Item Comments"?  On the default report in the H3 section you have the "Comment[1]", "Comment[2]", etc...that should be printing the line comments.

    3.)  Can you provide a screenshot of the report layout?

    4.)  Regarding not being able to select the Break Fields you want for report sections.  Break fields are based on Keys, or whatever you have entered manually as the sort.

    Hi,

    This works, except that doesn't the comment text field have to be tall enough to print the entire comment? I don't think it will 'grow and shrink' based on the length of the comment.

    Hi,

    I recommend:

    1.)  Starting with the default report,

    2.)  Link the "Sales Line Comment Work and History" via the Sales Transaction Amounts Work.

    3.)  Drag the "Comment Text" field into the BODY section of the report.

    I've done the above and the line comments are printing.

    I have a client experiencing the same issue.  Did you find a solution?  The solution suggested had to do with the document comments, not the LINE ITEM comments.  Marking the box when printing the picking ticket does not seem to print them and the version of the report my client has in their report writer doesn't even have the comment sections.  I have attempted creating these per the ones listed in the regular blank printing ticket, but the same break fields are not available and no footer information prints.
