Get Short URL for Marketing Form - Customer Insights

Hi,
 
I have a requirement to make the Marketing form URL short. What I am looking for is:
 
1. Go to the app "Customer Insights - Journeys"
2. Open any marketing form via "Forms" option in the left pane.
3. Click on "Publish options" button.
 
Now when the new window opens for Publish options, I want to have the short link instead of the long link of the Form.

    Custom Domain (Vanity URL)
    • You can configure a custom domain in Customer Insights – Journeys (Admin → Domain authentication).
    • This allows you to replace the long *.dynamics365marketing.* URL with a shorter branded domain, e.g.
    • https://forms.mycompany.com/mycampaign
    • This is the most professional option, especially if the form is public-facing.
    • Third-Party URL Shorteners
    • Use services like Bitly, Rebrandly, TinyURL, or your internal link shortener.
    • Example: Paste the long Dynamics form link → get a short link like https://bit.ly/3xyzForm
    • This is quick and works immediately but is external to Dynamics.
    • Azure Front Door or Redirect Service
    • If your IT allows, you can set up a redirect endpoint (e.g., https://go.mycompany.com/form1) that forwards to the Dynamics link.
    • Keeps the brand consistent and you control the short URL centrally.
    • Power Automate + Custom Table (Advanced)
    • If you want automation:
    • Create a Power Automate flow that triggers on form publish.
    • Send the long URL to an API of your preferred shortener (Bitly has one).
    • Store the short link in a custom table/column for reference

    Thank you, I tried to search ChatGPT and got the same idea as you shared.
     
    However, my requirement is I want to update the Form as a short link instead of a long link that is generated by default.

    Unfortunately, the platform does not support customizing the format of the automatically generated link. The form link is built using the Microsoft-hosted domain plus a GUID and cannot be overridden or made shorter from within the app.

    If you need a native short URL, try to use a custom domain for Marketing forms (supported in Customer Insights – Journeys). This gives you a cleaner, branded base URL, though the GUID part will still remain.
    Also, you can build a redirector inside your domain (e.g., /form/mycampaign) and point it to the generated form link, this makes the user-facing link short and branded.

    Changing the default generated link to a short one is not supported out-of-the-box and would require a custom redirect mechanism outside Dynamics 365.
