Job scheduling on material availability

Hi there,

I'm currently exploring some options in our Production planning setup and i would like to start with planning our production orders and reschedule them once a week based on material availability.

Now i experienced some gaps:

- Production orders are being planned towards the delivery date of a Planned purchase order.

- Production orders are being scheduled towards the delivery data of an unconfirmed purchase order.

Is there a possibility to exclude these orders and only reschedule based on confirmed purchase orders?

I have the same question (0)

Additionally, is it correct that only Job scheduling uses material availability?

When I use forward scheduling for ops scheduling it will plan the production order asap, even when there is no inventory.

    Hi Mark,

Perhaps you can try to select all production orders in Production control, click Schedule >Schedule Job, select Parameters per Order in the page, click Select, and choose the Purchase order confirmations in the Table column.

Forward scheduling is the scheduling of a project moving forward from a defined start date. The goal of this production process is to complete each task on the schedule depending on material availability.

When resources are available, the task is completed. If relevant resources are not yet available, the task is put on hold – and the project on pause – until the availability of resources. Each new task is initiated as soon as the previous one is completed.

More details about forward scheduling are in the following link. Hoping to help you.

    Hi Charlotte,

    Thanks for your reply!

I cannot add that table to my query, is that a customization?

Maybe you can click “Joins” button, and add table join according to the method in the screenshot.
