Batch AOS Takes Very Long Time To Stop Dropping Temp Tables

Hello,

We have 3 batch servers running on flash storage with plenty of memory and ample CPU power. We have noticed that over time it is taking one of the services a very long time to stop. During the last maintenance window this AOS took over an hour to stop. While it was in a stopping state I noticed that in SQL it appeared to be dropping hundreds of thousands of temp tables. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to figure out the cause of this? My only assumption currently is that is has something to do with master planning running on this instance, but the job was in a waiting state when the services were stopped.

Could there be some process creating temp tables and not cleaning them up? How could I narrow down this search?

Thank you for your help!
