Hi guys,

We are 2 companies - each created seperately and now we would like to have them in the same environment as we are about to do interpersonal sales. I have created a new company in the mothercompany, but how do i import the data from the other company?

Hoping for your help.

No we dont need to be in the same environment. I just thought that in order to do Interpersonal sales, one would have to be in same environment.

Could you direct me to a link or other information where i can read on how to do interpersonal sales when in 2 different environments?

    Thank you.

    Hi, just adding some info.

If you use it frequently, you can consider customization. The following are the key method.

    Record.ChangeCompany([Text]) Method: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/developer/methods-auto/record/record-changecompany-method

    Some examples:

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    1. with configuration packages, you get no posted transactional data

    2. this is a master data synchronization, again no posted transactional data will move

    3. this is worth a try but not necessarily easy and I'm not sure about posted data

Just because your companies are in different environments does not restrict you from doing intercompany sales. But if you absolutely require the move of one company, I do believe you will loose your posted data. You can recreate general ledger entries, open AR, Open AP, fixed asset and inventory data much like you would for a new implementation.

    Hi

    You have a few ways

    1) Use configuration package and download data from one and import to the other.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF6Bden8sDI

    2) Use free app such as  https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/dynamics-365-business-central/PUBID.unitechitsolutionsltd1596438951562%7CAID.master_data_sync%7CPAPPID.240478c1-69d9-49c5-b9f6-1ee85e96e1d2?tab=Overview

    3) Use Dataverse (it has the cost) and sync the data.
