The reason why need to use back the number is because our client is a trading house and they has the scenario where their customer will return back the wrong item they purchase and issue delivery order (shipment) using same number frequently. And they prefer the shipment number to be in consequence without any cancelled shipment number in between.
Any impact if remove posted shipment number by customization? Or any suggestion to overcome this scenario in microsoft BC?
Hi, Ben is right, No. is the primary key in table 110 "Sales Shipment Header", which cannot be repeated. If you insist on doing it, you need to delete the Posted Sales Shipments before assigning the original number. Of course this is not recommended.
The simple answer is no. Why would you want to do this? The Posted Sales Shipment Number is a unique identifier for that specific document record. Duplicating it would cause linked records, such as the Posted Sales Shipment Lines to get commingled across multiple documents.
