How to change base URL of Dynamics 365 Add-on Portal

Hi,

In Sandbox environment, we have been testing the capability of Dynamics 365, and we've also provisioned the Dynamics 365 Add-on Portal. But not knowing that this Add-on Portal must be shared between Sandbox and Production instances of Dynamics 365, the Base URL of the Add-on Portal has been set to a URL that we do not want to use for Production use. Is there a way to rename the Base URL of the Add-on Portal? For example can we "uninstall" the Add-on Portal, and re-install using a new Base URL?

    Hi Kenji,

I tried to change the URL, it has been successfully changed.

want to bind the custom domain with your portal then check below link :

It should be applied nearly immediately (though I'd give 10-15 minutes for updating *.microsoftcrmportals.com DNS records)

BTW, right now Microsoft presents new option in Dynamics Admin Console for the Portal actions to "Reset the Portal". After that you can provision the portal once again with completely new configurations including domain name.

If you need preserve some condiguration and portal data you can use "Portal Record Mover" plugin for XRMToolbox tool.

Are there additional steps required after the website URL subdomain is changed?

If I change my website domain to test12-332.microsoftcrmportals.com will I need to publish or deploy anything or does this take affect immediately?

The base portal URL can now be changed from the portal administration UI. It appears as a tile one the Portal Actions screen

    Hi,

Maybe my mistake, I might remember wrong. As I told because of my login account removed I can't check this issue on project.

As per my knowledge it is not possible. We can change the CRM Instance URL to which portal is associated but we can't change the portal url once its provisioned.

I recently had a talk with Microsoft for.the same.

    Can check below post also:

    Cheers
