Security

I am working with a customer who has over 150 companies and more are added monthly. There are roughly 22 users and several are added weekly.

The security is no longer recognizing changes made on any comany.  I ran the reconcile users- access as I had been instructed and that did absolutely no good.

My next step is to recreate the user security tables through the SQL maintenance however I am sure there was a knowledgebase article regarding this situation but I cannot find it anywhere.

if anyone has suggestions or can send me informaton on the KB article it would be greatly appreciated,  as this is causing some significant concern and workarounds.

thanks very much

Carolyn

    RE: Security

    Hi Carolyn,

This is the main step you have to follow to trace the security for the certain user(s).

    1) Take a backup of company & system database(s)

    2) Click Microsoft Dynamics GP, point to Maintenance, and then click Clear Data to open the Clear Data window.

    3) On the Display menu, click Physical.

    4) In the Series list, click System.

    5) In the Tables pane, click the Security Resource Descriptions table, and then click Insert.

    6) Click OK.

In the Report Destination window, select the Screen check box, and then click OK to send the report to the screen.

    Close the report.

The Security Resource Descriptions table is populated. You can use the table in an SQL query in Microsoft SQL Query Analyzer or in Microsoft SQL Server Management.

Please find the below query to trace the security & task for a certain window.

Did Susan's answer solve this issue? Interested in how you resolved this situation.

    RE: Security

Thank you Susan, I"ll try that on my most critical company and see what happens.  If that works then off to the rest of the companies.

I appreciate your response very much!

    RE: Security

Before you throw in the towel, did you do a checklinks on the security master Maintenance>>Checklinks.>>Company>>Security, then reconcile.

Here is the only article I can find on the security which also listed all the tables:
