How to make fields mandatory when creating a contact

Hello,

When creating a contact the mandatory fields are First Name, Last Name, and Email. I would like to make Account Name mandatory as well. How can I do that? I went into the Customize Entity > Contacts > Fields, however, I do not see account name, for example, I see "company phone number". Can someone provide a step by step process for this? It can't be this difficult.

Thanks.

    Hi Sabina,

You should find field display name called -Company Name and field name is -parentcustomerid.

Double click on field and make it mandatory. You can also go to form editor and double click the Account Name field , in the properties window  go to details tab and click on edit and set business required.

What you may have as your issue is that the form has a different display name to the field for Account Name.

I would recommend opening the form editor, then you can double click the field. Got the 'Details' tab and the click 'Edit' button you should now be able to change the Field Requirement level here.

Just be aware that due to a bug you may need to close and open the form to see the requirement level change on the field.

I would also suggest installing Level Up extension from Power Objects for Chrome, you can easily see the Logical Names of fields with this extension and can make it easier to find the field you are looking for by the schema name.

I was able to change the name in the forms section, I think. In the fields section, is has asterisks which means mandatory, however when I try to add a contact, the asterisks does not appear beside the account name.

    Hi Sabina,

Could you please do Publish all customization.

In addition go to Account entity expand relationship 1:N , find ccount->contact entity relationship. Double click on the relationship and make it business required.
