Hi there!

Is there anyway to add a dropdown list of Countries for the address fields? Also, it would be great if when you select USA or Canada, their respective states/provinces list in the State/Province field. Anyway to accomplish this?

    Hello Trevor,

You'd be looking for Picklists to accomplish adding the countries as a dropdown to entities. Also check this for fürther info: blogs.msdn.com/.../how-to-easily-create-dependent-picklist-in-crm-2011.aspx

Regarding Canada and US as selections, are the provinces supposed to be selectable in another drop-down and/or field?

Thanks Magor. Ultimately how it would work was that when I selected USA or Canada in the Countries picklist, this would activate a populated picklist for the State field so that it can be selected. Selecting other countries other than USA and Canada would just allow for free form text.

In CRM 2013 we have multi option picklists but that would be unwieldy for listing US and Canada with each separate province.

So you would need two fields, the free-form and the dropdown.  However, you could use Business Rules to tell CRM to hide the dropdown when a country that wasn't US or Canada and show the free-form.  That was users get a consistent interface.

Don't use picklists (option sets) for this. Use two custom entities for Country and State/Province and then you can easily use built-in filtering of one lookup based on the other rather than huge unwieldy javascripts.

Your custom State/Province entity should have three fields:  Name, Country (lookup field to Country entity so you can filter against this on Account or Contact for example) and I would recommend a Short Code too (this should be added as a Quick Find view find column to make it easier for users to type the short code and hit tab, rather than selecting via the longwinded lookup dialog box).
